Generate a HAR file

A HAR (HTTP Archive) file is a log of all the network activity in your browser while you reproduce an issue. Support may ask for one when troubleshooting extension, sign-in, or policy enforcement issues.

Note

HAR files can contain sensitive data, including cookies and the content of pages you visited while recording. Only share a HAR file over your support ticket, and let support know if it may contain sensitive information.

Chrome or Edge

  1. Go to the page where the issue occurs.
  2. Open the menu (⋮) and select More tools > Developer tools.
  3. Select the Network tab.
  4. Confirm the record button in the upper-left corner is red — select it if it's gray.
  5. Check the Preserve log box.
  6. Select the circle-with-a-line icon to clear any existing log entries.
  7. Reproduce the issue.
  8. Select Export HAR (the down-arrow icon) and choose Save as HAR with Content.
  9. Attach the saved file to your support ticket.
